Suffolk County Senior Softball is starting to gear up for the 2012 season. The 60+ League will have 14 teams divided into the National, American and Central divisions. Some are already practicing. If there are any newbies out there interested, don’t be shy! There is always room for more.
The teams will be playing in Medford, Bellport, Moriches, Smithtown, Setauket and Firemen’s Field in Brookhaven.
The 68+ League will play all their games at Percy Raynor Field in South Sertauket, a centralized area not requiring much driving.

Other News
The United States Senior Softball Association, based in Syracuse, will honor our very own Sam Perry on March 24 at the Islandia Marriott Hotel in Islandia. Sam, who works in the Brookhavne Recreation Senior Softball program will be inducted into the Senior Softball Hall of Fame and receive a Hall of Fame ring for his tireless efforts in promoting senior softball in brookhaven Town.
Tony Prettitore, manager of The Streaks, will also be inducted. In addition to managing the number one team in the 60+ League, Tony and his players travel around the country representing Suffolk County Senior Softball.
The induction ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. on March 24 at the Marriott Hotel, 3635 Expressway Drive North, Islandia (631-323-3000)
