Legislator Stern Appointed Chairman of Suffolk County’s Veterans and Seniors Committee.
Stern in Seventh Consecutive Year as Chair

In recognition of his hard work and accomplishments fighting on behalf of the Veteran and Senior communities, Presiding Officer Bill Lindsay appointed Legislator Stern (D-Huntington, 16th LD) to serve his seventh consecutive year as Chairman of Suffolk County’s Veterans and Seniors Committee.
Legislator Stern said “It is my honor and privilege to serve as Chairman of the Veterans and Seniors Committee, to work with and for our troops and their families, and to continue working closely with our Office for the Aging to better serve our seniors. I look forward to continuing to serve these two constituencies who have helped build and protect our great nation.”
American Legion Post 1244 Commander Robert Santo added “We are delighted to learn that Legislator Steve Stern has been reappointed once again as Chairman of the Veterans and Seniors Committee. Steve has shown consistent support for the veterans of Suffolk County and a great understanding of the unique challenges faced by veterans today.”
Legislator Stern was also appointed Vice-Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Public Works and Transportation Committee, and the Economic Development and Energy Committee as well as a member of the Parks and Recreation Committee.
