My first car was this 1943 convertible. Since I was only seven
months old, I couldn’t get a driver’s license and instead had to be
chauffeured around Aqueduct Avenue in the Bronx by my mother Linda
or father Arthur.
This 1950 Chrysler was the first real family car I recall. In it,
while driving us to and from our summer rentals in Monticello and
Mahopac, my father often got us lost while navigating his famous
“short cuts.” Of course, no road maps or asking for directions was
allowed.

The 1965 Dodge Dart was the first car I bought. It cost $2400 and to
save a mere $50 I ordered the two-door, which I regretted every time
I struggled to get somebody or something into or out of the back
seat. — Richard Siegelman of Plainview.
