Pearl Harbor Vets and
Families Invited

The American Legion Pearl Harbor memorial Post
1941 of Port Jefferson, NY will be erecting the
first-in-the-Continental-United States memorial, a Purple Heart
Monument dedicated to all who were killed and wounded during the
attack at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 at Calverton National
Cemetery.
The Dedication will take place on June 18, 2011 during the 70th
Anniversary Year of the attack.
The month of June was chosen because it resembles Hawaii’s climate
on that fateful day, and as veterans of the attack have aged, the
winter weather has made it problematic for many of the veterans to
attend ceremonies marking the attack.
If you are a Pearl Harbor survivor or the family of a deceased we
would like you to attend the ceremony.
If you know of a Pearl Harbor survivor, are one, or are the family
of one, please send a mailing address or e-mail address to us, so
you can be invited to this milestone event.
The mailing address is: American Legion, PO Box 654, Port Jefferson,
NY 11777.
The e-mail address is:
amlegpost1941@optonline.net.
The post phone number is: 631-676-2429.
Thank you and “Remember Pearl Harbor.” — Frank F. Belsito, Post 1941
